Agersø has a variety of associations.
The associations contribute to a very large part of the joint activities and events that can be experienced at Agersø during the year.
The Residents' Association is responsible for the coordination of several cultural initiatives and meeting points, e.g. Sankt Hans’ evening and communal meals. The Parish Council and the local priest organize a winter club and children's events for holidays for young and old at the church. The Sports Association provides fitness facilities, gymnastics and badminton for young and old, as well as hosts a branch of the Skælskør pumpkin festival on Agersø. The Hunters’ Association ensures that hunting on the island is coordinated and Havnefronten organize the Racing and Harbor festival.
If you are curious to know more about what is happening while you are visiting the island, check the activity calendar or the associations' respective pages for more information.
‘Nyt på Agersø’ is the local newsletter and it is updated quarterly
Agersø has a rich variety of associations and a lot of active business people who, together with volunteers, create many social and festive activities throughout the year.
Here you will find an overview of the many events.
The Association for the Danish small islands looks after the interests of many of the small islands across the country. The 27 islands which is part of the association have in common that they have fewer than 1,200 residents, are not connected by bridges and do not have their own municipality.
Among other things, work is done to ensure stable ferry operations, access to schools and health services and good broadband and mobile coverage on the small islands. The association promotes settlement, tourism and business, and shares knowledge between the islands so that the good examples are shared. The Association of Danish Small Islands works for life on the small islands - all year round.
